Portable 4G MiFi review

TP-Link M7350 review

The one that keeps working in a power cut, and the reason it beats a better 4G router for outages and caravans.

Why we use it

What this is actually for.

We keep one of these in the van and hand them to clients during outages. It is not fast and it is not new, and neither of those things matters for what it is for. The point is that it makes its own internet from a SIM and runs off a battery, which is exactly what you need on the day nothing else works.

The honest bit

Where it falls short.

Every product on this site gets this section. If we cannot think of anything to put here, we have not used the thing properly.

Fit

Who should and should not buy this.

Most bad tech purchases are not bad products. They are good products bought for the wrong job.

How it compares to the alternatives.

A single product review only tells you whether a thing is good. The guide tells you whether it is the right category of thing in the first place, which is the more expensive mistake.

Who is writing this

We are an IT and software company, not a review site.

LMC Tech builds websites, software platforms and AI-readiness work, and supports the technology behind them. Reviews here exist because we get asked the same buying questions repeatedly, and it is quicker to write the answer down than repeat it. Everything reviewed is kit we have actually deployed.

Need it fitted rather than delivered?

We install this sort of thing across Lincolnshire.

Buying the right hardware is half of it. If you would rather someone surveyed the property, specified it properly and set it up, that is the day job.
